Information on How to Vote
If you're a resident of the State of California—or plan to be soon—you can request a voter registration form right now for yourself or someone else.
You can download a PDF application (in English or Spanish) at http://www.ss.ca.gov/elections/elections_vr.htm or call 1-800-345-VOTE and a form will be mailed to you.
If you have any questions, you can
contact the Elections Division of the California Secretary of
State's Office by e-mail on their contact page, at or at any of the following toll-free numbers:
English: 1-800-345-VOTE
Spanish: 1-800-232-VOTA
Chinese:
1-800-339-2857
Vietnamese: 1-800-339-8163
Japanese:
1-800-339-2865
Tagalog: 1-800-339-2957.
You can also contact the registrar of voters in your county for information about your registration status, polling location, elected representatives or obtaining an absentee ballot. We've compiled a listing of all the state's County Registrars of Voters along with phone numbers so you can call and find out more.
